Holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune and forgiveness, is to be observed in the country tonight (Thursday).
Traditionally, a large numbers of the faithful throng the mosques to offer special prayers and Nawafils during the whole night under normal conditions.
However, due to the situation arising out of coronavirus, the people this time around will spend the night at homes offering prayers and seeking blessings of God Almighty.
Islamic Foundation has urged the people to offer prayers from home during Shab-e-Barat amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The religious scholars have appealed to the masses to make diligent and whole-hearted supplications before the Almighty Allah on the blessed night for warding off the deadly pandemic of coronavirus.
It has also called for not visiting graveyards and shrines on the occasion to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Bangladesh on Wednesday confirmed 54 new cases and three deaths from coronavirus. The country has so far recorded 218 cases and 20 deaths.
