The government has extended the ongoing suspension on the operation of all types of passenger transportation till April 11, to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement at a press conference at his Sangsad Bhaban official residence here on Saturday (April 4).
However emergency services, fuel, medicine, vehicles carrying perishable goods and relief materials will remain out of the purview of the restriction.
No goods-laden transport will be allowed to carry passengers.
Meanwhile,Bangladesh Railway has no plans to open passenger train services until April 11, its Additional Director General (operation) Miya Jahan told to the media.
Earlier, the government had suspended bus, train and launch services until April 4.
