Global death toll from COVID-19 Nearly 600,000

The novel coronavirus has killed 599,416 people in 213 countriens and territories since the outbreak emerged in China last December, according to latest figure from worldometer.

So far, 14,194,140 cases of coronavirus have been detected at 11:25 am till Saturday (Bangladesh Time), the source said. Of them, 8,470,275 patients have been considered recovered.

Besides, the active cases are 5,124,449 worldwide till date.

But global death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed 600,000, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The United States remains the worst-hit nation in the world in absolute terms with 3,638,002 cases and 139,128 deaths.

Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year. The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on 11 March.
