Global coronavirus death toll rises to 769,006

The novel coronavirus has killed at least 769,006 people since the outbreak emerged in China last December, according to a tally latest data from worldmeter on Sunday.

At least 21,617,972 cases have been registered in 196 countries and territories. Of these, at least 14,334,222 are now considered recovered.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,514,744.

With the new tally in the 24-hour, 5,917 patients died from coronavirus while 286,365 infections have been diagnosed, and 230,082 patients have made fully recovery.

The United States remains the worst-hit country with 172,606 deaths from 5,529,789 cases. At least 2,900,188 people have been declared recovered.

After the US, the most affected countries are Brazil with 107,297 deaths from 3,317,832 cases, Mexico with 56,543 deaths from 517,714 cases, India with 50,099 deaths from 2,590,501 cases, and Britain with 41,361 deaths from 317,379 cases.
