Covid-19: Hospital of Bashundhara opens in 15 days

Health Engineering Department (HED) of Bangladesh decided to establish a hospital containing a total of 2,000 beds at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, The hospital in the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) will be opened within the next 15 days to treat people infected with coronavirus (Covid-19).

Besides, it is talking time to import some equipment of ICU.

DGHS has planned a 2,000-bed hospital though there is a capacity to build a 5,000-bed hospital. Other than this, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) containing 71 beds there.

Md Masudul Alam, divisional executive engineer of HED in Dhaka provided the information today at a press briefing in ICCB in presence of the Chief Executive of ICCB Jashim Uddin.

Masudul Alam said the beds along with equipment for partition would arrive soon. A lot of equipment for the ICU is being imported which has been a difficult task in the current situation.

“We hope to turn the ICCB into the hospital within 15 days,” he said.

Thanking the Bashundhara Group, he also said: Bashundhara Group has handed over the whole convention city to us and the expo zone in which the hospital will be built normally costs Tk 4,500,000 a day what Banshundhra Group won’t charge.
