Coronavirus: Over 1 lakh recover in Bangladesh

Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh rose to 1,90,057 as health authorities on Tuesday confirmed the detection of 3,163 new patients in a span of 24 hours.

The death toll from Covid-19 now stands at 2,424 with the death of 33 more people during the period.

The health authorities on Tuesday announced in the span of 24 hours recovery of 4,910 people. With this, the total number of recovered patients rose to 103,227 in the country.

Since March 8, Bangladesh detected 190,057 Covid-19 patients.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.

Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 54.31 percent and the mortality rate is 1.28 percent in the country.

The global death toll from coronavirus reached 576,011 Tuesday, according to latest data from worldometer.

So far, 13,258,663 people have tested positive for coronavirus while 7,726,210 patients have made full recovery across the world, the source said.

Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year. The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on 11 March.
