Coronavirus: Bangladesh records 21 deaths, 1602 infections in last 24 hrs

Bangladesh saw the highest case and death from coronavirus on Monday as 21 more people died from the virus infection and 1602 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours to 8:00am on Monday. Confirmed coronavirus infection cases have crossed the 23,000 mark in Bangladesh.

With the latest figure, the number of total confirmed cases jumped to 23,870.

With this, the death toll due to the deadly virus infection reached at 349, Additional Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana said.

In the last 24 hours, 41 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country, tested 9,788 samples, she added.

However, 212 people were cured of the ailment in the last 24-hours, bringing the count to 4,585.

Bangladesh reported its first croronaviurs case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
