Coronavirus: Bangladesh death toll rises to 2,238

Bangladesh has registered 41 new fatalities from COVID-19 in a daily count, bringing the death toll to 2,238.

The number of total COVID-19 patients also surged to 1,75,494 to as the health authorities confirmed the detection of 3,307 new cases across the country during the same period.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin on this afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 3,706 patients recovered from the diseases, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 84,544.

The global death toll from coronavirus reached 552,438 at 3:20 pm till thursday (Bangladesh Time), according to latest data from worldometer.

Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year. The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on 11 March.
