Bangladesh recorded an additional 39 deaths from COVID-19 and 2,907 infections in the past 24 hours on Monday, counting the death toll to 3,438 and infections to 2,60,507.
Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services, came up with the latest update at the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A total of 2,067 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 1,50,437.
Bangladesh had tested 12,73,168 specimens as of August 10.
The detection rate of new patients on Monday has been recorded 22.60 percent while the overall rate of infection since March 8 is 20.46 percent.
Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 57.75 percent and the mortality rate is 1.32 percent in the country.
The country on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
