BFIU orders freeze of accounts of SP Masud, OC Pradeep

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has directed the commercial banks to freeze the accounts of eight people, including Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police (SP) ABM Masud Hossain, former Teknaf police station officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das, and former in-charge of Baharchhara investigation centre inspector Liakat Ali.

The BFIU ordered to freeze the bank accounts for the next 30 days.

The financial intelligence unit came up with the directive on Monday after sending letters to all the banks.

Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday arrested three members of Armed Police Battalion in a case filed in connection with the killing of retired army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in police firing.
