Bangladesh’s virus death toll tops 100 as infections hit new daily high

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh has crossed 100, a grim milestone, after 10 more fatalities were recorded in the 24 hours to 8am on Monday.

Besides, a total of 492 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, taking the number of such cases in the country to 2,948.

This is so far the highest number of confirmed cases reported in a day.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Additional Director General Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
