Bangladesh today reported 16 more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 930 new cases of infection testing 6,782 samples in the last 24 hours.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 314 and the number of total infections stood at 20,995.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) professor Nasima Sultana disclosed the figures at its daily online briefing.
In the last 24 hours, 41 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested a total of 6,782 samples, she added.
She further informed that the number of virus infected people made full recovery in the last 24 hours is 235, raising the total number of people recovered in the country to 4,117.
The global death toll from the highly infectious virus crossed 308,800 on Saturday.
According to Worldometers.info data, over 4,639,150 cases have so far been confirmed since the virus was first reported in China in December last year. So far, over 1,766,000 people have recovered.
