Bangladesh reports over 4,000 COVID-19 cases

Seven more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 127.

Besides, 414 more people have been tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,186.

Health minister Zahid Maleque made the disclosure at an online briefing on Thursday.

He said some 16 patients made recovery in 24 hours raising the number to 108.

Of the total infected patients so far in the country, 45.51 percent are from Dhaka city. Sixty-eight percent of them are male and 32 percent female, Dr Nasima added.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh reported first death from COVID-19 on March 18 while the first case was detected in the country on 8 March.

The fast-spreading virus has claimed over 185,166 lives globally and infected more than 2,656,622 people till now, according to Worldometers.
