Bangladesh reports 41 more virus deaths, 3,775 new cases, 2484 recover in 24 hours

Bangladesh has registered 41 new fatalities from COVID-19 in a daily count, bringing the death toll to 1,888.

The number of total COVID-19 patients also surged to 1,49,258 to as the health authorities confirmed the detection of 3,775 new cases across the country during the same period.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin on this afternoon.

Another 2484 patients recovered from the disease at home and in hospital care in the same period, raising the total to 62,108, DGHS Additional Director General Nasima Sultana said in a media briefing. The recovery rate currently stands at 40 percent while the mortality rate is 1.26 percent.

Bangladesh confirmed the first coronavirus death on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.

Nasima urged the people to abide by health rules to protect themselves from the infection of the deadly virus.
