Bangladesh records highest number of infections so far, 54 infected, 3 die in 24hrs

Three more people died of COVID-19 and 54 more people contracted the disease in the past 24 hours till 8:00am Wednesday.

With this, the death toll rose to 20 and the number of infected people rose to 218.

The Directorate General of Health Services disclosed the information at an online bulletin.

Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), disclosed the latest figure at a press briefing through online from their Dhaka office on Wednesday afternoon.

A total of 33 patients so far recovered, according to IEDCR.

The fast spreading coronavirus, which was first reported in China’s Wuhan, has claimed above 82,900 lives and infected more than 1,441,500 people across the world till date, according to Worldometers.

As many as 308,549 people have recovered from Covid-19, a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus, which has spread to 209 countries and territories across the planet.
