The death toll from coronavirus rose to 27 in Bangladesh as the country confirmed six more deaths on Friday.
The tally of infections has also soared to 424 after 94 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the IEDCR. This is the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19 in a day so far in the country.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has confirmed that six more people have died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths from the disease in the country to 27.
94 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infected has reached 424.
IEDCR director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora disclosed the latest virus figures at an online press briefing this afternoon.
Meanwhile, as of Friday, the global death toll from coronavirus reached 95,837.
The virus has so far infected 1,608,015 people, including those who died, around the world.
